At SingularityWeblog.com we are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what happens to any personal data that you provide to us, or that we collect from you whilst you visit our site.

Information We Collect

Registration for the Singularity Weblog Forum is optional. For those visitors who register to become members of our Singularity Forum we require them to supply an email address plus their first and last names. All other information that a member may choose to supply via the support forum profile form is optionally given.

For those visitors who choose not to become registered members but who wish to make use of the forum, we require them to supply a unique user name with which to subsequently identify them plus an email address.

Users may, from time to time, divulge to us further personal data items. Such data is voluntarily given. If posted on a support forum topic users must be aware that this data may be viewable and available to other users of the forums. If sent as a Private Message it is viewable only to those selected to receive it.

The only other data item collected is the IP address of any user, registered or not, who posts on the forums.

It should be noted that SingularityWeblog.com is powered by WordPress. We are not responsible for any data collection that may potentially be harvested by the WordPress application and that we are unaware of.

If at any time a registered user of our website requests that we remove their registration and profile details, once we have verified that the request comes from the user in question we will accede to the request. Any forum posts they have made will revert to 'Guest' status. However support forum topics and posts will only be removed at our own discretion and we retain the right to keep those publicly available.

Cookies

SingularityWeblog.com makes use of cookies. Cookies created by the WordPress application are available to SingularityWeblog.com and SingularityWeblog.com will create a cookie on our user's hard drives if at all possible. This is simply a cookie to help identify that user should they make a subsequent return visit to our support forums.

Any user can adjust the settings on their computer to decline any cookies from SingularityWeblog.com should they so wish. This in no way effects their usage of our forum.
It is possible that our advertisers may also use cookies, over which we have no control. Such cookies (if used) would be downloaded once you click on advertisements on our website.

The information we collect, as outlined above, is used solely to identify you when visiting or posting on our forum. We make no other use of it whatsoever but reserve the right, should we wish, to send emails from time to time to inform users of our products and service.

We take every step possible in partnership with our host to ensure the security of our data. Our host is subject to their own privacy policy with which we are satisfied but we can take no responsibility for any data loss that may occur outside of our immediate control.

Data may, from time to time, be transferred from SingularityWeblog.com to other storage media strictly for the purposes of testing and development of the forum. It is not shared with anyone not listed on the 'About' page available on the menu of SingularityWeblog.com.

Links and Email Subscriptions

Our policy discloses the privacy practices for the Singularity Weblog web site. But SingularityWeblog.com provides links to other web sites. When you leave the web site, you will be going to sites that are beyond our control. These other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information. The privacy policies and procedures described here for SingularityWeblog.com do not apply to any external links. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any site you link to from ours, especially if you share any personal information. Be informed. We currently offer email update subscriptions operated by our Mail Chimp Email service. We can take no responsibility for any data a user willingly discloses to this service nor the privacy policy of that service.
