I wonder if this is correct.  Where is it written that only our conscious mind would be uploadable?  I see no reason the background neuronal information not immediately accessible to the conscious mind would not also be uploadable.  Current research on the connectome is certainly addressing all brain connections, not just those related to consciousness.  No one wants to just be a thin cartoon in the future, a caricature of their former selves. As the science of uploading develops I am sure this possibility will be avoided.
