It’s been a few days since Singularity Weblog got a new Thesis custom design and I’ve been meaning to write a short post both to mark the occasion and address some questions:
So, What’s New?
1. Blog design: First and foremost, we’ve got a new, unique and customized blog design created by David Alexander from Quixotic Media. After the fiasco with the first designer that I had hired for the job (who resigned abruptly 3 months after taking on the project), I sent out emails with the design brief to 12 different companies. (Together with the request that it be completed within 2 weeks and on budget.)
David from Quixotic Media was not only the first one to respond but also the only one who made a number of unique suggestions on how to improve the blog not only in terms of look and feel but also SEO, structure, plugins, security and so on. Needless to say, having demonstrated his professional enthusiasm, together with the fact that he took time to visit Singularity Weblog, “get” the blog concept and think of the best ways to approach its design, David looked as pretty much the only appropriate person for the job.
Two weeks later, David not only delivered and installed the new design both on time and on budget, but also managed to convince me that his Quixotic Media was my one-stop-shop for all of my future blog needs.

2. Logo: The new logo was designed by Eka Putra from BaliTechy.net. He was the only one able to fulfill all of my logo requirements such as: Simple. Unique. Easy to remember. Easy to scale down to favicon and up to poster size. Prints well in all colors. Easy to mold and recreate in 3D physical shape…

Together with the above 2 people, I should not forget 2 others — Matt Mullenweg and Chris Pearson who created WordPress and the Thesis theme for WordPress respectively.
“Thanks guys, you made a blogger out of me.”
Why Thesis?
Thesis is an extremely powerful, yet simple WordPress theme that anyone (no matter how technologically inept) who is serious about blogging should have.
Other reasons why I bought Thesis are its lifetime support, flexibility, usability, popularity and clear SEO benefits. The default code comes organized perfectly well for Search Engines, and, even more importantly — for people. I love using Thesis and when my wife Julie decided to experiment with blogging herself I upgraded my license to the developer’s option and installed Thesis for her too.
